Who are you, and what do you do? What do you like to do outside of work?

My name is Liz, and I’m a cozy gamer and psychology major from Ukraine currently based in Poland. I’ve been in gamedev since 2018 and currently work as a community manager for Wargaming. Beyond my professional life, I also wear the hat of a meme page admin.

I find joy in playing PC games with friends and consuming a vast amount of digital media. My interests extend to VR, Nintendo consoles, and various DIY projects like watercolor painting, knitting, sculpting, and sewing, among many others. I take pride in being a cat mom to my seven-kilogram baby boy.

What hardware do you use?

I’m a big fan of clutter-free workspaces, opting for an all-black theme with red accents on my main setup. My home PC is an RX 6800 XT with Ryzen 5 7600X, housed in a neatly packed mini ITX NZXT H1 V2. Building it from scratch was my first venture into PC building, aiming for a compact, minimalist design without compromising power. It was an overwhelming but thrilling adventure!

On my desk, you’ll find two enormous mousepads from KRUX, an ErgoDox EZ with thick gold switches, and a Logitech G502 X mouse. For voice calls, I rely on the HyperX QuadCast mounted on an Elgato Wave Mic Arm, and a Logitech C920 cam. My monitor of choice is the UltraWide LG 34WP75C. For audio, I picked Edifier R1700BT speakers with SPC Gear Viro headphones.

My chair of choice is a Diablo X-Player; complete with custom embroidery on a horned pillow, it sets the perfect mood for video conferences.

Additionally, I enjoy gaming on Oculus Quest 2 for VR, Nintendo Switch, and New 3DS XL for a more exotic gaming experience.

And what software?

Operating on Windows 10, my daily toolkit includes Opera GX, Discord, Spotify, my Steam library, League of Legends, Minecraft, Black Desert Online, and whatever my gaming buddies come up with for a gaming session. I also play VR games like Beat Saber and Superhot VR, and occasionally lurk on private servers in VRchat.

What’s your keyboard setup like? Do you use a custom layout or custom keycaps?

As a self-proclaimed minimalist, I designed my keyboard layers for comfortable switching between four languages. The first layout (Polish Programmers) is for English and Polish, and the second (custom Layout based on Ukrainian) is for Ukrainian and Russian. I’ve tweaked the Windows Ukrainian Language layout to seamlessly incorporate both UA and RU special characters without the need to switch between additional languages.

I chose thick gold switches with my set, since I work from home and no one will be able to hate me for my Thicc Popcorn clicks. I added a thin layer of foam to slightly mod my keyboard as all cool kids do, but I don’t feel much difference. I may switch to some thockier switches next year. Long live hotswap!

What would be your dream setup?

My dream setup is one that never experiences BSODs or strange noises for no reason. <3

I value having a good view and clean workspace without too much cat fur.

Nevertheless, I find myself quite content with my current station.
