Who are you, and what do you do? What do you like to do outside of work?

I’m Dolapo. I’ve been working in tech for over fifteen years as an engineer and more recently as a manager of engineering teams. I tend to like to work on consumer-facing products. Two of the things I’m most proud of working on are Google Reader (RIP) and Facebook’s AR Studio.

Outside of work, I have a few areas of interest, but these days a lot of my free time is taken up by our two children. When I do get time I quite enjoy photography and learning the piano, and have spent a lot of this last year nurturing new plants.

What hardware do you use?

I’ve got too many things on my desk now, as it supports my work as well as personal/side projects. I use a Fully standing desk and a Grovemade shelf to try to contain all of the things. The list includes a Mac mini, a MacBook Pro, a 24-inch Dell monitor on an arm, speakers, and miscellaneous videoconferencing equipment. I like to listen to music while I work, so there’s also the speakers and headphones.

My current favorite cameras are my Leica Q2, Fuji X-Pro2, and Bronica SQ-Ai—though by volume my iPhone + Darkroom handle the majority of photos I take these days.

I like writing on Midori notebooks, and my favorite pen is the uni-ball Signo RT @ .38.

And what software?

For work and personal projects I’m a longtime Vim user, but the tooling and community around VS Code has gotten way too good to pass up.

I’m also always in Darkroom or Lightroom (unfortunately both Classic and CC).

What’s your keyboard setup like? Do you use a custom layout or custom keycaps?

My layout is not that advanced, but it works for me and is something I modeled after transitioning from Kinesis.

I swapped keycaps on my Moonlander recently to this MT3 set, and I have just a few more tweaks I’d love to make.

What would be your dream setup?

I’m lucky and it’s close to my dream setup, so no changes coming anytime soon.
