Mikayla Hageman
Accounting ClerkWho are you, and what do you do? What do you like to do outside of work?
I am Mikayla Hageman, a 21-year-old accounting clerk at Selkirk Sport, where I focus on bookkeeping tasks such as data entry, data organization, and financial record-keeping. Due to a repetitive stress injury from typing, I transitioned to using the Moonlander MK I keyboard for improved ergonomics.
Outside of work, I enjoy PC gaming, reading, creative writing, drawing, and playing Dungeons & Dragons every other week. I also travel to attend Renaissance fairs in the summer and local conventions throughout the year.
What hardware do you use?
For work, I run macOS on a MacBook with two external monitors and the Moonlander MK keyboard. For personal use, I have a Microsoft tower.
And what software?
I use common apps such as Google Apps and Excel, plus business apps Brightpearl and Zendesk.
What’s your keyboard setup like? Do you use a custom layout or custom keycaps?
My Moonlander MK I keyboard setup has three layers to mimic a normal keyboard, including a dedicated ten-key pad. I ignore brightness and volume controls, since my MacBook is always open.
I’ve also replaced some keycaps with the Minimalist Keyset kit for better readability.
What would be your dream setup?
I’m considering getting a personal Moonlander MK I keyboard for gaming and writing, as my current one is dedicated to work.
For my work setup, I’d like to streamline it to just two layers, with colors programmed to reflect the active layer. Additionally, I want to create a layout that allows me to perform some of my daily tasks with just one hand, improving efficiency and ease of use.
